About Physioform Pilates
Physioform Pilates is a small, independent, home-based Physio and Clinical Pilates studio located in beautiful Shelly Park, offering a calm and private setting with park and sea views. Founded by Kirsty, a Registered Physiotherapist with over 20 years of clinical experience in the UK and New Zealand, Physioform Pilates combines traditional Physio with the strength, mobility and wellness benefits of Pilates in a supportive, one-to-one environment. The studio is easily accessible with ample parking, perfectly suited to anyone with compromised mobility or mums with bubs in strollers.
The studio’s ethos centres on the integration of Pilates principles and Evidence-Based Physiotherapy to optimise rehabilitation outcomes. Through clear guidance and gradual progression, the emphasis is on building strength, confidence, comfort, and trust in your body again. Sessions can involve Physiotherapy techniques including Exercise Prescription and Education, Manual Therapy, Taping, Massage and Acupuncture as well as Pilates based Rehabilitation including use of the Reformer, Mat and Small Equipment.
Initial appointments are 60 minutes and include a comprehensive assessment, discussion of your individual goals, and the development of a personalised one-to-one treatment plan.
Follow-up appointments are available as 45- or 60-minute sessions, depending on your clinical needs. Both ACC and private appointments are offered.
These longer appointment times allow for detailed assessment and support the studios integrated Physio and Pilates-based rehab approach.
Physioform Pilates supports people at all stages of life. You may be recovering from injury or surgery, managing ongoing or complex conditions, or returning to movement during or after pregnancy. You might also be keen to start or return to mat or reformer Pilates training but feel hesitant due to pain, injury, or illness.
Kirsty has established links with local Pilates studios and instructors and is happy to provide guidance and handover when clients are ready to transition back to class-based exercise. She also welcomes collaboration with existing Physiotherapists, GPs, Specialists, and other Health Providers to ensure a coordinated, client-centred approach to care.
